Rail Wiper Sales/Project Manager

About the role

In this largely work-from-home position, you will be given independent charge of the sales and project management of our rail windscreen wiper business. You will be the main point-of-contact for both, the UK-based manufacturer and the customers in India. Domain experience in the Indian rail industry would be a plus, but is not essential for a motivated and quick learner. Travel within India will be necessary to visit customers.

Skills and qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
  • Basic technical understanding of rail windscreen wiper systems (or the ability to quickly develop this understanding)
  • Flexibility to travel within India to visit customers
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in the Indian rail industry is preferable

Your responsibilities

  • Generate new leads and increase sales
  • Manage existing and new rail wiper projects from enquiry to contract execution and delivery (including technical/commercial discussions with the customer and the manufacturer, negotiations, etc.)
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the UK-based manufacturer and Indian customers
  • Maintain brand awareness among customers and grow the rail windscreen wiper business

Electronic Field Engineer

About the role

As a field service engineer, you will be responsible for handling the installation, commissioning, repair, and service of our equipment on customer vessels at ports across India. This job involves extensive travel and may require you to respond to short notice requests. You must be based in one of the major port cities of India.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have confidence, meticulousness, and a thorough technical understanding of the equipment. You must also have strong communication skills and the ability to think on your feet and come up with logical solutions on the job.

At the end of the initial training/probation period, you will need to demonstrate that you possess these qualities. As soon as this happens, we will confirm your permanent position with all the benefits.

 
Skills and qualifications
  • At the minimum, vocational training in electronics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Flexibility to travel to any port in India at short notice
  • Proactive approach to developing a good technical understanding of the equipment
  • Ability to think logically and come up with solutions while on the job
 
Your responsibilities
  • Handling installation, commissioning, repair and service of all our equipment on customer vessels, at ports all over India
  • Providing remote assistance to customers
  • Attending to about 5-7 service jobs per month on average
